Congratulations!

Congratulations to all of the students in the class who contributed to our reading of 100 books by the end of May!  Because of their efforts, Scholastic Canada will be donating 100 books to a Canadian school in need on our behalf.  Well done everyone!

Class Reading Challenge

Our class is making steady progress towards reading 100 books by the end of May.  We have read 77 books so far and with a few more weeks to go, we should reach our goal!  Keep reading!

Rosaries

On Tues., April 23, all of the grade 3 classes will be making rosaries with the help of the CWL from St. Philip parish.  If you are able to volunteer (from 1:00 to 3:30), and have your  Police Check/Vulnerable Sector, please let me know via your child's agenda.  The more volunteers, the better.

Peru Mission

Our Lenten fundraising for the poor children of Peru will be taking place throughout the duration of Lent at St. Philip Catholic.  

Students are encouraged to do chores and acts of kindness at home to “earn” funds for the poor. As a result of their acts of service/donations, students will be invited to decorate a trophy template at school to decorate our school halls. The trophy is representative of the sacrifices they have made to help the poor. As you may know, the children from the Peru Mission donated a trophy they won at the faith camp they attended to St. Philip Catholic School as a "thank you" for our generosity.

All donations to this fundraiser can be made using School Cash Online throughout Lent.

Classrooms Care

Each year, Scholastics Canada challenges classes to read 100 books from March to the end of May.  Our class is taking part in this challenge and when we collectively read 100 books, Scholastics will donate 100 books to a school in need in Canada.  What a great way to help others!  Happy reading!
